Homework

1. Every night your child should be reading at least 20 minutes & filling in their calendar.  Please make sure their calendar is signed even if your child did not read.  I recommend having your child read aloud 1-2 x's per week to practice their reading fluency.  Practice makes perfect!

2. Each night your child should be studying their addition & subtraction facts (through 20) for at least 8-10 minutes.  We will be moving onto multiplication & division shortly.  There are endless ways to practice math facts.
Here are a few to try:
       a) ipad apps
       b) magnetic flash cards (I love Books) on a cookie sheet
       c) computer games
       d) have a parent quiz the child
       e) using food/candy
       f) using a dry erase board
       g) flash cards

3. Spelling:
    Tuesday =  sentences due
    Wednesday =  chart (front & back) due
    Thursday =  test (parent signs Thursday night)
