1. Every night your child should be reading at least 20 minutes & filling in their calendar. Please make sure their calendar is signed even if your child did not read. I recommend having your child read aloud 1-2 x's per week to practice their reading fluency. Practice makes perfect!
2. Each night your child should be studying their addition & subtraction facts (through 20) for at least 8-10 minutes. We will be moving onto multiplication & division shortly. There are endless ways to practice math facts.
Here are a few to try:
a) ipad apps
b) magnetic flash cards (I love Books) on a cookie sheet
c) computer games
d) have a parent quiz the child
e) using food/candy
f) using a dry erase board
g) flash cards
3. Spelling:
Tuesday = sentences due
Wednesday = chart (front & back) due
Thursday = test (parent signs Thursday night)
